Improving the performance of materials through cryogenics

The Cryogenic Treatment Database is a leading resource for research and information in the field of cryogenic treatment — the use of extremely cold temperatures to improve the properties of materials.

This Database is designed to be a nonpartisan source of scientific information. Every effort is made to give fair evaluation to proposed content. An objective, professional committee has been formed to perform these evaluations.

Updated quarterly, the Database contains scientific and informational articles pertaining to the cryogenic treatment industry. You will find everything from white papers and conference proceedings to media transcripts and interviews, all organized and searchable.

How to use the database

You can find an article in the Cryogenic Treatment Database in a variety of ways.

In the search box, you can search for any term relevant to the field. The search is done on the descriptive information on the site, but is not a full text search of the articles themselves.

If you know the title of an article, you can find it by the alphabetical field.

The most precise searching can be done using the Multiple Parameter Selector. This feature allows you to build your query as you go, refining or expanding it quickly and generating a list of results. You can search by article type, cryogenic agent, material used, and part or tool treated–or any combination of these parameters.

The parameters you have selected appear in the box on the right, just above the words “Add Search Parameter”. As you add additional search parameters, the list of results will be narrowed further. You can modify the search results by removing any search parameter you have selected, simply by clicking on it in the “Remove Search Parameter” section. Parameters may be selected and removed in any order to help you drill down to the information you need.
